MARKETS ON THE STREET
Markets are Melbourne's speciality when it comes to food, culture, fashion and knic-knacs. The atmosphere is always buzzing and bustling in the Melbourne markets. Here are some of the best markets around our state.
Camberwell Market
Sunday 6:30am-12:30pm
Market Pl Camberwell VIC 3124
The Camberwell market is a long running carpark lot filled with stalls of vintage clothing, accessories, housewares, jewellery and plants. The market has been running since 1976 with a small amount of sellers of 48 which has now grown to 400 stalls. Camberwell market is also home to buskers and Kylie Minogue's famous gold pants.
From my personal experience, I wish I had the time to go every Sunday to the market! It brings such a vibrant vibe to your morning with lots of smiles and a big variety of clothes and items to choose from.
Queen Victoria Market
Tuesday to Sunday 6am-3pm (not Wednesdays)
Queen St, Melbourne VIC 3000
By far it is the biggest and most known market in Victoria. The Queen Victoria Market offers a range of foods and clothing, doughnuts, cheeses, meats, fruits and bakery items. For over 140 years Queen St has been home to Melbourne's most popular market, from opening in 1878 as it is on Victoria's heritage list. Over 600 small businesses have lived at the Vic market. The market marks to be sustainable and environmentally friendly.
