Melbourne is the home to hidden away, funky and sophisticated clothing stores. These shops revamp lost and forgotten clothing into beautiful fashion for your wardrobe. Each store keeps up with the trends and seasons of clothing items. From my personal experiences these are my favourite vintage Melbourne shops.

Store 1

VINTAGE SOLE

Vintage sole is a modernized, retro store located in Melbourne near Flinders street and also on Brunswick street in Fitzroy. The 15 year old store sells quality vintage clothing while respecting and implying an alternative to fast fashion. On the racks you will find plenty of Levis jeans, cord pants, branded t-shirts and jumpers, handbags, bum-bags, jackets and shoes. Their items are sourced from all over the world then re-modernized here in Melbourne.

The clothing store focus on decreasing the fast fashion issue. They pick and choose second hand items carefully to avoid clothing into landfill. Vintage sole believes and advertises that dressing well can also be environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Store 2

RETRO STAR

City Store

Since 2004 Retro Star has been located in the iconic Nicholas building near Flinders Street. Described as a vintage shopper's paradise with plenty of menswear, womenswear, jewellery, accessories, t-shirts to jeans, plus festival, party and costume fashion. Retro star offer many branded items, with majority of the store decked out with brands, brands, brands. Retro star reflect sustainability offering so much second hand clothing items.

Warehouse Store

In the more recent times Retro Star also have created a warehouse store in Fitzroy. Sales range from $5-$20 every Thursday-Sunday. The clothing items are everything and more from the Nicholas building store, but such a bigger a range. The building is about 20m x 20m covered with items to add to your wardrobe.
